The Hebrew word for date (tamar) is close in spelling to the word "tamah, meaning "cause a sense of wonder and amazement; May G-d cause a sense of wonder in the eyes of enemies and making them acknowledge G-d's Greatness as Sovereign of the World".

Try our wonderfully amazing recipe for stuffed dates:

Stuffed Dates

Ingredients:

    Filling - Marzipan
      3.5 oz Blanched, Ground Pistachio or Almonds
      3.5 oz Powdered Sugar
      Few drops of Rose Water or Almond Extract
    Dates - use whole pitted dates if available if not slice dates lengthwise & remove the pits.

Directions:

    Filling

      1. Process all the ingredients, using the metal blade of a food processor, until it forms into a dough-like consistency.
      2. Form into small balls.

    Dates

    Fill each date with a ball of Marzipan and press between both sides of the date.
